You'll Never Be Ready

No matter how badly you want to control time, you can’t.

(This could be an extension of yesterday’s letter.)

Tim Cook’s 2019 Stanford Commencement speech really hit home for me, providing insight on this idea.

“When the time comes—and it will—you’ll never be ready. But you’re not supposed to be.”

Okay, cool. But what do we do with that?

Well he goes on to give a few pointers:

  • “Find the hope in the unexpected”

  • “Find the courage in the challenge”

  • “Find your vision on the solitary road”

Agility in entrepreneurship is a far greater skill than preparedness.

No amount of planning can account for the unknown.

Elite entrepreneurs embrace it. The rest fall by the wayside.

Don’t rush the time to come.

But be ready to act when it does.
