Startup Einstein
Experiment like crazy.
The early stages of your business are the hardest—but the most free.
What do I mean?
You have the freedom to do whatever you want.
No shareholders report to. No policies to adhere to.
If you want to test something, you can.
Which is an incredible spot to be in—the more your company grows, the less room you’ll have for it.
Patagonia founder, Yvon Chouinard, shares a metaphor that illustrates this idea beautifully:
“If I get an idea, I immediately take a step forward and see how it feels. If it feels good, I will take another step forward and if it feels bad I will take a step back.”
Business should be scientific. Test the waters. Double down on what works. Throw out what doesn’t.
Before long, you’ll be well on your way to optimization.
Become a startup Einstein.
