Nice to meet you Mark

Yesterday I met Mark Cuban.

Well, he did a video conference with my marketing class. So I basically me him right?

People started chiming in with questions about the Mavs and Shark Tank, until of course, someone asked “what’s your best piece of advice for us college kids?”

Classic question.

I think his simple, three word answer applies to everyone, not just college kids. “Read every day.”

Reading exposes you to totally new ways of thinking. You don’t have to agree with them, that’s your own choice, but it’s a direct line into someone else’s mind.

No other mediums offer that, outside of a direct conversation.

Anyway, if Mark says reading is his biggest competitive advantage in business (and he reiterated that multiple times), I think I’ll follow his lead.

Go get your hands on a good book.
