Lace Up

Want to build stronger relationships?

Lace up your walking shoes, grab a friend, colleague, partner, and go for a walk.

Grab a coffee too for increased effect.

Spotify founder Daniel Ek has been using this routine to build relationships with his executives for years.

Plus there seems to be some science to back up it’s efficacy (I’m no expert though so don’t hold me to that).

But to me the benefits speak for themselves:

  • Conversation “flows” more easily

  • Less “awkward” than face-to-face

  • It gets you outside

I frequently go on walks alone to clear my mind—it only makes sense that grabbing a partner would be beneficial too.

The best part: it can strengthen all relationships, not just business partnerships.

Healthy personal relationships positively impact your attitude and directly carry over into the quality of your business life.

So grab your favorite pair of Nikes and hit the road.
