What's Your Excuse?

Entrepreneurs will make any excuse.

“It’s not the right time.”

“I’m not smart enough.”

“I don’t have enough money.”

I’ve said all of these and more over the years.

But I recently read a line from Ted Sivers (CEO, TED speaker, author) that totally shifted my perspective on these lame excuses.

“You don’t need money to start helping people.”

At the end of the day, most business owners are here to help their customers.

Sure we’re here to make money too, but to sell a product/service it has to have some value.

In the beginning, when the money isn’t there, you can offer up time instead.

Help people for free. Learn from them. Understand their desires, curiosities, and struggles.

Being a helping hand goes a long way.

It builds trust and again, it’s totally free.

So you might still have a list of 100 more excuses.

But money better not be one of them anymore.
