Dress to Impress

Fake it ‘til you make it.

There’s a fine line here between being fake and pursuing a new skill.

Never be a fake person.

However, put yourself out there and learn as you go, even if it means pretending a little bit.

It’s a hard concept to put into words.

So hopefully you get where I’m going with this.

Triberr founder, Dan Cristo, applies the concept to business:

“You know how they always say, ‘Dress for the job you want, not the job you have?’ I say, ‘Do the job you want, not the job you have.’”

If you want to start a content marketing firm (like Triberr), chances are you won’t have every skill you need.

Put yourself out there, pretend you know what you’re doing, and learn what you don’t.

Of course, there is a caveat: the business you choose must be learnable.

You can’t fake it ‘til you make it and become a doctor.

But with the opportunity to start a business online, skills like marketing, sales, graphic design, etc are all viable choices.

Do the job you want.

If you don’t know how, learn.
