Backward Proportions

Most solopreneurs get it backwards.

I sure have—plenty of times.

Thinking an awesome plan or business model means guaranteed success.

Which couldn’t be further from the truth.

Last year I spent thousands on a mentorship, was practically handed the answers, but didn’t devote the time.

You guessed it: things didn’t work out.

I failed because I got my proportions backward.

Tony Robins says “Operating a successful business is 20% mechanics and 80% mindset.”

I thought it was all mechanics.

Turns out it’s all about mindset and work ethic.

You don’t have to have the perfect plan (I’d argue one doesn’t exist).

But even if it did, you could still remedy a less-than-optimal idea with hard work.

I’m not the type to glorify “the grind” but there is truth to it.

If you want to build your business, it all comes down to what you input—time, effort, energy.

So flip your proportions.
