20 Page Report

You can’t fix what you don’t know.

So what’s the best way to find out? Feedback—and ask for it often.

Whether from customers, employees, colleagues, it doesn’t matter. We can be blindsided by our shortcomings so easily that an outside set of eyes can uncover a lot.

Brian Halligan, in the beginning stages of building Hubspot, had his team send out a management survey to the company.

In a 20VC interview, he chuckles when recalling the 20 page report he got back once the data was synthesized.

It can be ego-testing to ask people what you’re doing wrong, but it’s a small price to pay for clear sight.

Plus, the humility displayed in asking for feedback will build further rapport with your team and customers.

Perhaps you can keep the report to 5 pages though.
